I got another phonecall later in the day to say they had had a wonderful day out and Una had been just perfect ALL day and best of all, so happy in her work....Now that is what I love to hear  . Apparently she walked much faster and with more confidence than ever before, with her head up and her tail wagging as she strutted along....Bless her.
It was really busy in Town and being as it was Chinese New Year, there were firecrackers going off and a band thing with loads of loud drums marching up and down and Una was unfazed by it all, still working well, taking care of her Mum. Her last Guide Dog had been terrifed of noises and disliked travelling, so Una behaving like this was a novel and wonderful experience for her .
The last shop they visited was the Pet Shop (I told her Una would know exactly where that was and she did  ) where Una was allowed to choose herself a new toy. I could hear her squeeking it frantically in the background as we were chatting .
Her new Mum is so pleased with her now after the shaky start they had , what with one thing and another.
Una is incredibly lucky. She found someone perfect for her. Someone who understands she is a Dog and a Best Friend first and a Guide Dog second and that's all I could ask for the special wiggly little Black Girl.
