As many of you know, I still see Una regularly and have a lot of contact with her new Mum. I love receiving her updates of "What Una Did Next", even if they are mischevious ones sometimes . However today that little black girl has made me especially proud.
I just took a phonecall from her Mum, saying today is the first time she and Una have taken a trip to Basildon Town Centre. Una did most of her training and socialising with me there and we spent many hours round the shops, going up and down the lifts, going round different obstacles, etc but Una won't have been there ever since she left me 18 months ago, as she wasn't trained in this area.
Well Una and her Mum got off the bus and immediately Una knew where she was, so when she was asked to find the lift she took her mum right through the shopping mall, past all the various barriers and obstacles and took her straight to it and it's a fair distance away. Then when asked, she found the Food Hall too...Bless her she hadn't forgotten a thing. Her new Mum was sooo pleased with her, she rang me while still out to tell me just how wonderful Una was being....How lovely is that.
So today the sun is not only shining in the sky but in my heart as well.
The fella who had her didn't want me to have any of his contact details and even though he has mine, I've only ever received a brief one liner to say she is fine and I've not heard anything more since a christmas card (the christmas before last).
I just have to hope and pray she is living a happy, loved life.
I thank whoever is in charge "up there" for giving Una such a lovely, understanding Mum though. As she is still a quirky, busy brained, wiggly girl and I really can't think who else would put up with some of the things Una did or still does, in such a calm, loving manner and with such a sense of humour too....Because By Gum do you need a sense of humour with her sometimes (her new mum couldn't half write some stories ).
As I said before....she is quirky....fantastically loving, loyal, very clever, rather mischevious...but definitely Quirky and thankfully her new mum loves every hair on her wiggly black body.
<gulp> lump in throat moment for you there Jules....x
Do you hear any updates about the blonde bombshell?
