Well with the new food, and maybe a bit longer time swimming and walking. She will soon loose what she has put on.

Shocked Isn't that REALLY expensive? (I am also surprised you consider Pedigree a cheap food) - CSJ, Skinners and Wagg are cheaper good quality foods.

I've suggested to you before (as have MANY others with other suggestions), but it seems to fall on deaf ears - to try Iams Light and cut her back to around 200g a day - with the extra exercise, she WILL loose weight. It is usually £36.99 for a 15kg sack - but they've had a long term offer on for £24.99 - a single sack for one dog would last you over 3 months (that's less than 30p a day).

Then, if you have a little spare cash (if you can afford Hills Shocked the price I just checked was £50 for 12kg) get some Kelp seaweed tablets from Dorwest and add the recommended dosage to her food.

http://www.dorwest.com/Catalogue/Veterinary-Medicine/Kelp-Seaweed-Tablets

For a bitch, at 41kg, she must be visibly overweight.

I don't understand why you have been here before, you have been given a wealth of suggestions in the past on her weight - and yet nothing changes Sad

Sue - can I just ask a question?

If a dog is on a reducing diet due to being overweight, would you feed them the amount of food suggested for the weight you want them to be, or would you cut the amount in half until they're the weight you want them to be and then feed them the recommended amount (either packet guidelines or by eye)?

Sorry if that seems a daft question, I'm curious and I thought it might also help the OP with the reducing diet.

Sorry to hear you lost your home Sad

Arden Grange is a good food and reasonably priced for the quality I think. CSJ as mentioned is pretty cheap and Autarky is too and both sound pretty good ingredient wise for a low-priced food, though I've not fed either.

Personally I'd give Wagg a miss as looking at the light one, the first ingredient listed is wheat. I also know from looking at the Wagg site previously that at least one of it's foods contains BHT. If you look online at BHA/BHT you will find info out there about this being carcinogenic and there are plenty of foods that aren't.

Just my thoughts.

From what I recall from your other threads this has been a long on going problem dating much further back than November.

I agree with Sue's advice regarding her food. When you say she's now getting more exercise - how much is she getting exactly?
