This is a great dog-friendly B&B and holiday cottage at Spean Bridge (near Fort William):

http://www.smiddyhouse.com/

I was going to go up there for a couple of days this week, but I've changed my mind since it really isn't the weather for going up onto the hills.

(Lottiesmummy, I passed those wigwams when I walked the West Highland Way, and I thought they looked well cool! It's a while since I've been to the Green Welly Stop, we should have a GT up that way sometime Very Happy)

Check out www.ormsary.com,

We have a week booked there in July, it's not far from Lochgilphead, log cabins only, no entertainment. By a sea loch fantastic for the dogs.

I can't wait, we went when our boys were young. Looking forward to taking my dog there this year

we've had 3 great holidays in Scotland with our dog this year:

we went to Ardnamurchan at Easter - fantastic if you want the best, unpopulated blond beaches and good forest walking. It was so remote and just great

we went to Orkney in July - not quite as good as easter, and a bit of a long drive

we went to Arran in September - we go every year as we have a timeshare lodge at Auchrannie Hotel and they are really dog friendly. Great beaches and forest walks too.

Hope you have a great time wherever you choose!

I've stayed at Grace Cottage twice (last October and this October) it is in Diabaig (pronounced Dee a baig for those in the know). I really love the place and it is mega dog friendly - but it is in the middle of nowhere (and a little bit further). The nearest pub is about 8 miles in Torridon (Anat to be exact).

There is a lovely beach at Redpoint and also one near applecross (Monty Halls lived in a hut there for a summer a few years ago)

The roads up there are all single track with passing places - but it is lovely as everyone waves.

The other place to consider is Arran (an island, south of Glasgow) We stayed there in September at Chimney Cottage in Lamlash (just google for it)

Defo go for the West Coast - just pick somewhere and give it a go - you will love it.

Jackie

I'd recommend Harris, it's beautiful and the people are very friendly.

Just be careful on the wee single track roads when driving at night, we wrote off my friends car last time we visited. Rolling Eyes
