As we shall shortly, with a bit of good luck and a following wind, shortly take up residence in Scarborough, I need to urgently source a good dog training club or two please.

I have had a look but although if I google dog training Scarborough some names come up, I can;t find anything where there are details of what they do or some form of recommendation...

The boys have spent months without any real training - last club session we attended was the middle of June, so I think there will be a bit of recapping needed - but they are sooo desperate to do something - I want to hit the ground running so to speak.

(By the way I say desperate because as soon as I call one and say "work" they are both there sitting to attention with a "pick me" expression - and when we do something, boy are they keen!)

WE went to a club every week before we left Hampshire so I would like a club where we can be challenged and maybe even try a bit of competitive obedience - I need to pluck up both courage and confidence first though - and I really don;t want to ahve to do a course for puppies and untrained dogs if this can be avoided. I don;t mind being assessed as to what the appropriate level is...

So please any suggestions - we would be most grateful...

Will keep asking around but my current trainer doesn't know of anyone in that area - she suggested posting on obedience newbies as being your best bet.

I found my puppy training class in the filey vets, couldnt find anything online
there was 2 to choose from one in burniston and one in filey i opted for filey as she said its more an obedience/training class (and its indoors) i start that at the end of feb. The one in burniston was in a carpark and sounded more like a club.
I dont have a number for the burniston one but i can always pop into the vets and get the number

Thank you all...

Pam - I don;t belong to any other forums, LF gives me all I could ever ask for or need - fantastic friends, company, advice - why would I join another forum - besides I don;t have the time Laughing Laughing Laughing

Rach - I did look on APDT but saw nothing for scarborough - funnily enough though I have had another look - there was one there for Malton with a website address - and I have just received an e-mail from an e-mail address I don;t recognise - any ideas anyone? Headed "dog training clubs scarborough" so they have obviously seen this thread - just simply giving me three links one of which was that website.....

So I am definitely going to look - and to whoever it was that sent me the e-mail - THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

Susan - off to post now.... thanks!

Eve Neo and Bramble

PS It may even the week after next the move happens!!! YAY!!! Very Happy
