Thanks again for the replies. I currently feed 300g a day of RC lab junior split between 2 meals with a bonio half way between meals.

That is way under what is says on the bag to feed but our vet told me to give the amout we do now as she said Peppa was losing the shape on her hips and not to feed as per the bag instructions as they are always way over the top.

This will be another issue when changing the food, trying to work out how much she will be need to maintain weight and shape and not lose weight or pile it on too quickly. As she is now 12 months i'm guessing she shouldn't grow too much more although there could be a little bit of growth left over the next 6 months?

I assume I should weigh her when I change the food and then weigh her each week or every 2 weeks to see what change in weight there is to try and help work out what is the right amount to feed?

I feed Lincoln Skinners field and trial, and mix between duck & rice and salmon and he is fine on that, like you I feed about 300g per day, tending to go on the less side rather than the more, and have done since I got him at 1 year old. He weighs in at about 26kg

To spark it up a bit i will mix a tablespoon of Chappie in it with it sometimes, and a bit of carrot Smile

Sp0oner, my vet always reckons to feed about 80% of any manufacturer's suggested daily feeding amount, which makes sense really as the main aim of food manufacturers is to sell as much of the stuff as possible, and they do seem to have a tendency to over-quote their suggested feeding quantities.

Berry is on SupaDog Active which at my local pet foodstore is £15 for 15kig, it's brilliant, lasts her a good 6 weeks whereas the 5kg Bakers bags barely lasted 2 weeks at £8 a bag.

I'm not against Bakers as Berry was fine on that, glossy coat, not 'hypo' like some reports etc. I believe every dog is different and its about finding the right food for your dog, but cost is an issue so I'm glad I stumbled upon SupaDog - it has loads of different flavours and has different kinds e.g. active dog, working dog etc.

I just spent ages looking at your signature hehe Berry looks so much like our recently lost black lab Milly. Do you breed rats or was it an accident brood? I keep rats too they are such amazing pets Smile
