ok so im looking into recusing a puppy so thought i'd check out other insurance companies as I'm finding Petplan very expensive, although they have been excellent in paying out for Lulu's medical fee's and surgery.

I've got my cats insured with Healthy-pets.co.uk and thought i'd look into them and get a quote.

Well i can get Gold coverage, life time cover, £7,500 vet fee limit, excess £120, etc for 10.99 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Petplan im paying £27.50 a month and god only knows how much that will go up too next policy year what with having to claim for Lu!

Can't believe the difference, only thing is having never had to claim for the cats i dont know how good Healthy-pets would be at paying out... anyone else with them and had to claim?? What were they like?

Vicki, are you sure that price is not for the Bronze cover? I was quoted £35.72 per dog for the gold

£120 excess is a lot.

I'm with Direct line paying £21 per month for Coco, the excess is £80 and the maximum amount per condition is £6000 over the life of the dog. We have had no problems with claims.

Vicki - I'm with Argos too. I think they do three forms of cover, bronze gold and platinum. I think the limit for platinum is £7000 per incident for life - they have paid out on Lilly's HD - £500 so far - and other minor things with no problem at all - always got a cheque within 2 weeks max.

The premiums are about £18/20 a month - good luck with choosing.

So what pup are you getting then????????

xxxxxx
