Thanks so much again everyone for your help, offers of help, moral support and good wishes. We have been really touched and are so grateful.

We're all safely back home in Cornwall, and Moo is stretched out on his favourite sofa looking rather more relaxed, though you can feel he's still a bit tense. He doesn't want to be outside on his own much and stayed very close all the time on our walk this pm. Other than a small cut on his leg, he seems fine - we've been over him very thoroughly. No fuss and plenty of gentle confidence building for a while I think.

I still can't believe it happened, and my stomach keeps turning over at the thought that he could have been lost for good. But we all keep smiling as well, thrilled to have him back and so warmed by how kind and helpful people were.

I've no idea where he went or was for 30 hours or so, though suspect he holed up in the woods until it went very quiet - he was quite grubby and smelt very strongly of soil. I'm so glad we just kept walking the area, calling for him - endlessly circling back to the place he got lost and then back to Anne's parents. It's quite a walk between the two places (about 40 mins) and I'm sure he must have picked up our trail to have made it almost all the way back to us.

Thanks again all, and very best wishes for uneventful 2010s!
