I buy tesco value food bags, I think they are about 30p a roll, not sure how many are on there though.

Tbh where they tend to go on walks I don't pick up, mine tend to get off the paths and into bushes, and for the garden I re use my tesco carrier bags.

I prefer Ikea poo bags as they are thicker (probably not environmentally friendly though) but they don't have handles. I think they had gone up to 99p a roll last time I went.

I'm not keen on nappy sacks, they are a bit thin - far too easy for fingers to go through if you're picking up from rough tarmac or if the bag cathes on a twig, they are almost transparent too.

The majority of councils no longer use landfill, they use a method where they seperate the recyclable stuff out, compost the biodegradable stuff and burn the rest. So, I wouldn't worry too much about non-biodegradable bags Smile

Another nappy sack fan here. Although I have used the odd freezer bag! Having said that, I prefer something I can't see through!!!

I have used nappy sacks but i prefer the black poo bags with handles Confused they're thicker and more reliable not to split Embarassed i also don't like being able to see through the bag so i opt for the black ones Embarassed

I have used bio degradable ones too but they're so expensive unfortunately Sad

Oooooh Angi I might have to try the Waitrose ones after that recommendation!

I have tried sooooo many varieties, and still haven't found one to settle on. I *thought* I had settled on the PAH poo bags, you know the thick black ones - they have always done me fine - until in the middle of Hyde Park on Saturday and I actually ran out of poo bags because about 4 in a row all had massive holes in the bottom! Must be a bad batch Sad

If the poop is in the garden I use newspaper to pick it up (full tabloid size sheet folded in half) which works really, really well, unless you have large hands (OH just can't get the hang of it, or so he says ... ).

I try and buy Boots environmentally friendly/bio-degradable nappy sacks (these are the white ones with green leaf pattern). They used to do a cheaper bio-degradable nappy sack but I've not seen this for a while now.

I'm also using Pennine bio-degradable poop bags (from Pets At Home) but these don't have handles, so not the best type to be taking out and about. I didn't realise until I bought them that they didn't have handles (I have 4 packs to get through Rolling Eyes ). Ok for picking up in the garden though.

I've also a 'dog loo' in the front garden, but as the dogs generally use the back garden to do their business, simply because it's easier, this doesn't get used that often unless I can be bothered to pick up the poop on a shovel and carry it round to the front of the house (whilst avoiding dropping it on the neighbours' shared access path).

Yes ... I know ... I should have put the dog loo in the back garden Rolling Eyes
