Question from a soon to be virgin dog owner ............ can you tell??

With normal plastic bags supposedly having a 'half-life' of some 2000 years or so, are there any more environmentally friendly bags out there for this very necessary job!!! It's no surprise that some bags which have been made precisely for this purpose are stupidly expensive.....

Hints on which ones you all use would be great.

Many thanks
Darren

the way i look at it is that i would love to do my bit re biodegradable bags BUT i have to face facts. The poo at home has to go into the normal bin which isn't very bio-degradable stuff. I also put the poo when i'm out into a poo bin which is full of other nasty plastics.

Based on this and my pocket at the moment... i just by tesco/asda/boots nappy sacks (don't go for the value ones tho!!!)

If i have pennies... i buy the bio-degradable nappy sacks from the supermarket.

Well I have to say I don't think my method is entirely environmentally friendly. I buy the cheapest I can find (tesco at the mo) nappy bags. I get 300 for 70p or something rediculously cheap like that Confused Very Happy

They come scented and everything to make the job that little bit friendlier Wink Very Happy

Have to say I don`t use bio degradeable either, not at the price they are, I get mine from the pound shop, proper poo bags, scented and a decent size too Smile

I have one of these which is pretty funky if you don't like being seen trundling down the road clutching bags of poo. Obviously you don't need to use their poo bags in conjunction with it as there are cheaper alternatives.

ones with tie handles are much easier.

I don't have kids either but i've always got a good stock of baby wipes and nappy sacks in the car/house. My friends who do have kids can always rely on me to help out if they run out!

I got a bag of biodegradable ones at Pets at Home the other day but haven't tried them yet. I have to say that the price will possibly stop me getting them again....so pricey! I shouldn't be allowed in that shop really, I bought all sorts of things, all I went in for was some chews!!
I do like their regular scented poo bags though, they are nice and thick and I think about 1 for 100 or so.

I'm too mean to buy bags, I just use the carrier bags, bread bags and other plastic bags that you seem to be constantly given these days. I do use quite a few when I stock up in TESCO fruit and veg dept - then they can be poo bags too!

Mean, that's me!

Katy
