Bracken had a perla bed when she was going through her chewing phase, but I had to put it away because my neighbour complained about the noise It seemed that when I was out, she had a rare time dragging it around on the wooden floor. It wasn't for the want of leaving her other things to do... kongs, treat balls etc.
She was fine with a bit of vetbed on the floor thereafter, and not long after that she was ok with a nice squishy bed to sleep on. However, now that Boots is here, he likes to de-stuff beds, so we're back to vet-bed and old blankets for the time being.
I would like to get them a perla bed each, but how to get around the dragging them around and being noisy issue? Dog walker suggested tuffies beds, but tbh, I'm just not willing to spend 100s of £££s on dog beds.
Can anyone direct me to somewhere that sells perla beds, but ones that have some sort of rubber backing or something, that means they don't a) scratch my floor and b) make a noise if the dogs decide they need re-arranging when I'm out?
I thought about buying rubber stuff and sticking it on to the bottom of the beds, but because they're raised of the ground slightly by a rim this makes it hard to do. I know if I stuck anything around that rim myself, the dogs would just love picking it off.
I don't know if such a type of perla bed exists, or if I've explained what I'm looking for properly, but just thought I'd ask on the off-chance.
We got a new perla bed at the weekend for Oscar as he kept sleeping in marleys and marley wouldnt go in oscars crate so now we've de crated oscar we thought we'd get another one. they come with the tiny rubber pads you put in underneath which for us seems to stop that noise! Hope that make some sense!! I think its about 7 or 8 they come with, ours cost £27 for a 35 inch which is rather big but i like them being able to stretch out in them!
We got ours from countrywide, we bought the other one from PAH and the smaller one we had for oscar when he was tiny i bought off the internet
hope that helps
Sorry no mention of a brand on them, and I know the big one was a brand just can't remember what - it's not perla because i remember perla was super expensive overseas.
Basils puppy bed was PAH and that has the inserts too, but our newer one from PAH doesn't have them
It might be a case of calling one of the big online sellers who stock several and asking which come with the inserts. They came in a little plastic bag.
edited to add google brings up a few , ferplast being one and a couple of unbranded options too.

We have perla and ferplast in the kennels and they have the rubber inserts to go on the bottom to prevent marking the floors, but if we have a dog in that likes doing his house work when we are not there we do find that they come out and we end up sweeping them up with the chewed blanket!! They dont seem to mark our floors but yes they make heck of a noise.
I was given 2 recently by someone who no longer wanted them in his house for his labs that were from zoo plus, and I was very impressed with them, they seem to have better bottoms, not the rim that the perla have and they made less noise on the floors, were a better design altogether, yes I was very impressed by them.
Also pets at home have a similar type. But I would still rate the zooplus ones.
Sorry just double checked (Nellie is in it so having to tip bed with 20kg pup in ). The PAH ones do have rubber feet still - but i'd say they are not as durable as the rubber feet you insert yourself. We've had that bed a year and some of the feet look a bit worn.
Can't see if they could be replaced though if needed (with the stick on ones you get in DIY stores) but will look later if you're interested?
