I'm going to order a roll of vet bed, but I see the non-slip kind is more expensive.

My exisiting vetbed is tatty, and it is often scrunched up un a heap in the corner when I come home. I think the dogs must lark around and then have to sleep on the wooden floor in the end. Either that or curl themselves up onto the scrunched up vetbed.

Soooo.... I need non-slip I think. It would be good for the boot too as my boot liner is pretty slippy. I did velcro my blanket/sheet thingy down, but the velcro didn't last.

Does the non-slip stuff actually work? Is it worth paying a little extra for?

The vet bed I have is non-slip and works a treat. I have it inside the dogs beds, in the car boot and also in my conservatory which has a laminate floor I got mine on a big roll from e-bay for about £70 I think. Well worth it and I still have plenty left on the roll to cut some extra pieces for the winter.

The only thing I find with the non slip vetbed Mo is that Pepper does prefer to chew that sort when he is shut in his kennel Rolling Eyes . I think it is a bit tougher than the ordinary which seems to spur him on - flippin dog Rolling Eyes .

i have the non slipone in Alfie'scrate and it works a treat as when he;s bum tucking in the house. . :Shocked it always involves a whirl around his crate...the bedding stays in place. And the bit i have in the living room doesn;t move either.

It means I have to keep sweeping his kennel out because you get all the little white bits of backing all over the place, which doesn't do my OCD any good at all Shocked .

I prefer non slip, I will probably only ever buy non slip from now on tbh.

I do remember reading on here it didn't hold up to really high temps for washing, but i only wash mine at 40c so it's fine.

We have it for the kennels and I use it in my car and some indoors. Its great on our kennel floors if we get a large dog that slips around, I have cut my rolls into runners and they are put on the floor and it stops all slipping. The only draw back is once washed hundreds of times the backing does fall to bits and if you tumble dry the new stuff to remove the hair it stinks of rubber burning!!!!!!!! My kennel vet bed gets washed all the time and it has to be done on 60degree to kill anything lurking, so I do give it a hard time, but on the whole I like it.

Ha it's not just me! Lola frequently has tell-tale traces of chewed up rubber on her lovely brown and cream vetbed! Drives me daft! Laughing

We have tried both - though non-slip is definitely the best.

I agree with Jill about the annoying little bits of white rubber - OCD here too Rolling Eyes - but it really is good.

Now we have gotten rid of the crate we only use it in the car. I bought a roll from eBay for about £20 - we cut into 2 and it was big enough to line the 42" crate.

It's still going strong 2 years later Wink
