I have to agree with John. It never really stops, although at some times of the year it is worse than others.

Charlie is also having a mega moult at the moment. Whenever he shakes himself my floor it looks as if it has just snowed (with yellow lab hair)! Shocked I sweep it up every day, and every day there is another shed load of it. Sometimes I am surprised he isn't bald.

Rosie seems to moult all the time. Being a larger lady I like to wear alot of black (don't well all, its slimming) and the state my trousers get into is just not funny.

Owning three cats as well, we're accustomed to fur. I have to say that by far the worst culprit is our British Shorthair - they're not known for it but I've had three persians in this house before now and put together they shedded less than our Lily.

As a result of needing a pet friendly house for pure ease and cleanliness, we have mostly hard floors downstairs, and I'm shocked by the 'tumbleweeds' of fur I get collecting behind doors and in the corners. Even after sweeping; it's a real challenge. In my car as well, Rosie's in there every day and the black seats of my Scenic are a magnet for her fluff.

Not sure what a furminator is but if someone could explain, I'd consider it.
Also; how often should I groom? I do it once a week at the moment and it doesn't seem to make alot of impact; should I be doing it every day?
