Hi, I used to stuff Poppie's kong with liver pate & some of her dried kibble for texture. I then put the kong in the freezer. This kept Poppy occupied if I needed to leave her indoors while I went out. Wink

The kong company make all sorts of toys but when we say "kong" we usually mean the rubber treat dispenser

http://www.kongcompany.com/products/dogs/kong-rubber-toys/classic/kong-classic

They have a small hole at one end just to stop it creating a vacuum and a larger hole at the other end which you can use to fill the hollow toy with food and treats. They are quite tough and withstand a fair bit of chewing, can be frozen, put in the dishwasher, thrown, bounced etc.

They come in various sizes and strengths, red is a standard strength, black is for the stronger chewers and puppy ones are usually marbled pink or blue and a bit softer. For a Lab puppy I would go straight for a large red one, we have 2 that I had pre-Coco and she has been fine with them for nearly 3 years.

Pups don't always know what to do with them, so just put some dry kibble in to start with so that it comes out really easily - then you can start making it harder to get out once your pup knows what to do.

They are quite expensive but are well worth it.
