While I was at my trainers on Monday she put her dogs indoors and left them with their kongs, they were playing with them for ages so I asked her what she put in there.

She uses frozen meatballs, they're just the right size with the medium kongs. Straight from the freezer they can be pushed into the kong, they're a tight fit but it means they don't come out easily.

I tried it with Jet when I got home and he loved it and it kept him busy for quite a while Very Happy

Just thought I'd share Very Happy

Sounds good! I've been using the Kong Stuffin' Paste with bits of kibble mixed in and then frozen which keeps Lola busy for ages. The Stuffin' Paste isn't exactly cheap though and I've been looking for other ideas... so thanks!

Swedish meatballs from either Tescos or Sainsburys Very Happy

They do bags of them in the frozen food dept for about £1.99 and they're just mince with a little seasoning. (helpful hint, don't forget to defrost and cook them if you intend to feed them to human children; the furbabies prefer them frozen and raw!) Laughing Laughing

Hello, new to this forum from the other side of the pond, Illinois, US.
Great idea with the meatballs, have not tried that.
I use peanut butter and mix it with either some kibble, frozen blueberries, small carrot pieces, frozen green beans. We have only seniors so we do not fill completely, trying to keep the calorie count as low as possible. In the freezer overnight and the furkids think they are the best.

I grate up apple and mash up banana then freeze it overnight. We've also tried low fat cheese spread and chopped up raw beans. Alfie Loves them!

Hi,

Berry has at least one Kong everyday while I go to work, so I try to have a variety.

I use:

Mashed banana and freeze

Low Fat Yoghurt sealed with a bit of bread and freeze

Doggy kibble sealed with peanut butter and freeze

Various other diced fruit and veg (I also have pet rats so Berry gets the leftovers!)

Marmite on toast (marmite can also be used a seal and frozen)

Various meat pastes you get from the supemarket - loads cheaper than Kong ones

Squeezy cheese with bit of veg or kibble etc mixed in too

I'm always on the lookout for new Kong fillings so don't know how I missed this thread for so long Rolling Eyes

I use value powdered mashed potato smash type stuff (made a bit thicker than recommended for hoomans) and mixed with tuna or whatever else I can find or value porridge (which can be mixed thinner or thicker to suit) and again mixed with tuna, sardines or pilchards. These seem to be very popular because the bulkier bit is warm it makes the fish smell stronger and keeps interest.

I tend to serve them warm and fresh if they're needed in a hurry or frozen if I have more time to prepare Smile
