Hi Jayne-I have Max who is a lab x german shepard who has always stuck at 40kgs no matter how much i cut his biscuit down, although he carried the weight quite well as he is a tall dog, but it has been niggling at me for months-i have seen too many dogs suffer as they get older with bad hips/legs.
Max was having one tin of winalot with a handful of mixer in the evenings, and 5 shapes for brekkie, with a postmans leg which would last him about a month and carrots and oranges as treats thats it nothing esle but he wouldnt lose weight even without the 5 biscuits in the morning
My vet said to change the winalot over to a tin of chappie as its low in fat and easy to digest
We are now weighing in at 37.4kgs all this being within 6 weeks-Max is looking better than ever and i cant believe the difference just changing over from winalot has made.

For a tasty treat have you tried stuffing a kong with some pureed carrot - my dogs loves it and keeps her minding going licking it out of the kong. Also raw broccoli stalks and bits of pear very tasty treats.

Good luck
