Ancol, Ezydog, rac, clix, ....
Which one is she least likely to get tangled in?
Am driving saloon car now and Luna travels on back seat. I have a net up to prevent her moving into passenger seat but this is no restraint in case of accident.
We have a Champion harness for Solly. They are an American company and fully crash tested the same as baby seats etc( no uk ones are). It is incredibly sturdy and fastens to the isofix fitting in your car or the base of the belt. The fixing also swivels when they move so completely non tangle. They do a puppy pack ..which is a smaller harness and an adult size for a reduced price and it comes in several colours. The company is based in Switzerland but you pay in pounds. It arrives in only a few days..very impressed
I'll give it a go Lesley! I like the way it slips onto the seatbelt itself rather than the seat belt clicker bit. A harness that clicks into the seatbelt clicker is the one we have tried so far and the one she ends up twisted in!
Angi...the strap on the Champion, can you keep that attached permanently to the Isofix point and just clip/unclip the dog's harness from it? Our biggest problem with Lillie's harness is that I have to take the whole thing out of the car every time she gets out and it's a right faff!
Thanks for the harness recommendation Lesley - so far so good!
Luna looks very smart in it and has got used to it being fitted. It takes no more time to fit on her than it would to secure a child in a seat. It's handy to use to walk her on when just popping out of the car for a moment. The ability to shorten the chest piece is useful as Luna has a shorter chest! We've used it on loads of car journeys and she has only got tangled up once! I've found that if I make sure the attachment is high up on the seatbelt, she can move without getting tangled. She is able to move around to say hi or bye to people out of windows; however, I've made a couple of emergency - almost missed the turning! - stops and turned around to find her still in the same place whereas previously she'd have been looking disgusted at me as she'd have rolled into the net (preventing her accessing front seats) and back of the front seats (have filled in back seat footwell). The tension of the belt on the harness discourages her from moving around as much as she used to but she's not at all uncomfortable and falls asleep as readily as ever.
A happy customer and dog!
