I thought you might like to know that on Sunday, Sammy and Raymond will be taking part in a sponsored swim at the Greyfriars Rehabilitation and Hydrotherapy Centre in Guildford, with me shouting encouragement from the side of the pool!

The challenge is to swim the English Channel - well, the equivalent distance - 33.8km which is 3380 lengths of the hydrotherapy pool. Lots of dogs, their owners and staff members will take part in 15 or 30 minute sessions, and all lengths swum, run and walked by dogs and humans will be added up, and they'll keep going until the 3380 lengths are completed.

All monies raised will go towards the Barney Fund (http://www.greyfriarsrehab.co.uk/barney.htm) which provides funds for specialist veterinary care, long term inpatient rehabilitation, foster care, etc for rescue dogs from all backgrounds.

They've been in training, and have their trunks and towels ready to go. I'll have the camera with me so hope I can get some good photos of them to share with everyone Very Happy

Raymond and Sammy had a really good swim today - they managed 164 lengths between the 2 of them (and would have happily gone back in for more!). When we got home, he still wanted to play, but once settled, he slept for ages Very Happy Very Happy

Once I've collected all the sponsorship, we should have almost £300 for the Barney Fund - I'm so proud of them Very Happy Very Happy

Here are some photos of the swim...sorry about the overload!

Thanks Very Happy

It looks like that, doesn't it! If you notice in the first photo, the ball is at the end of the pool - a very simple way to get Sammy to swim lengths without much supervision (he loves that pink ball)!!
