His breeding is all but 100% working... his dad goes picking up every winter and his mum has done all the training but isn't a regular worker and looking back through his pedigree there are no mentions of show champions only field trial champions. His recall has gone a little to pot lately as at 9months we're going through our teenage defiant phase but as soon as we have that back on form again will definately try that exercise.

Sorry  didn't mean to cause any controversy/offence on the breeding thing - just that my dog's breeding is pants and that works against me, along with my inexperience on the handling/gundog training front.

As I said in my dogs case, he has excellent breeding but pants handling working against him
