Ran (organised) our Utility Guindog Society Open test today at the beautiful ground of Castle Goring just outside Worthing.

I believe it went extremely well and something occured which is very very rare at Open test level. The test was won by someone who scored a complete full house (in a field of 32) of 100 out of 100 - which broke down over 5 tests as 20, 20, 20, 20..... and well...... 20...)

Whilst this is not a forum member I think the achievement was worthy of a mention and also to mention that several people who post on LF were either competing or a brilliant, fantastic help.

The results are:

Open Test
Castle Goring by kind permission of Fitzroy and Marigold Somerset
Judges: Gilly Nickols, Chris Marshall, Nick Potts

1st: Kenmilfore of Storm - Penny Allanson Bailey (Eclipse Firefly x Fobbingacre Black Heidi)

2nd: Miss Summer Breeze - Robert Smallman - Tagabea Savannah x Shelldream Lucky

3rd: Teaser Teal - Gill Dawson - GFT CH Dargaffin Dynamo x Barrhill Quest

4th: Gospelash Victor - Ray Hardie ( Baveybuilt Vino of Gospelash x sunnybrook waters of Gospelash)

COM: Tayfordwoods Twist of Lemon - Ian Ford (Waterford Envoy of Heathergaye x Logansmore Samba)

COM: Wadeshot Fir - Phil Botting - (Millbuies McCoy x Wadeshot Ester)

Thank you helpers - great day - and lets face it, some of the comedy moments you couldn't write (judges prizes being taken as raffle prizes etc etc...) but to those who help me regularly - you won't be at all suprised.... and the others, you will get used to this sort of thing happening to the test I organise Wink

Wink

Penny was extremely thrilled, she isn't a LF member, but the achievement I felt was worthy of a mention Wink

Plum and Penny sure made a brilliant team seeing them in action on a couple of tests - handler and dog certainly at one with each other.

It was a brilliant day. I learnt loads and also had fun in the process!

Well Done Di and Al for running such a slick and enjoyable day.

They were very testing tests yesterday – and getting full marks really is some achievement.

Overall I was pleased with our run. We completed all the tests but started off with a clanger and rightly got a 15, so I pretty much knew early on it wasn't going to be our day. The rest of our scores were more respectable though. Nice to see so many faces from the forum - and a big thanks to Di and Al for organising yet another terrific test.

That's a very impressive achievement, particularly in Open.
