You mean to tell me all that clambering over that blinkin fence the other weekend didn't actually help on the day
Jill, Over the last few weeks I have had Lola jumping everything! Wire netting, walls, hunt jumps, that evil wooden and wire combination, even the orange plastic mesh stuff! Everything! Those that have been out training with me recently will know that Lola jumps whatever's in the way. The test jumps were a little different, but nothing particularly unusual. Truthfully I would have expected her to pop over without the practise!
In truth it wasn't that bad, but I was dissapointed to lose a bit on them. Maybe we over-practised. Maybe I handled her slightly differently. Maybe it was the set up and location, or maybe just typical dogs!
Matt, that was a very impressive result indeed and your write up made very interesting reading, as always. Wishing you all the best for this season, it sounds like you are having the perfect lead up to it.
Thanks all. I'm really looking forward to the coming trialling season. Its been a quiet Summer for Lola as I was hoping she was pregnant, and then she took a dip in form round about the time the pups would have been due, so we haven't done any working tests.
I'll perhaps have a look at doing a 'Cold Game' or two Aug / September, and then firmly cross my fingers that we can runs in Open trials. I really need to be in another twenty societies to give her a real chance though. Too late for this year.
I also have my first field trial judging appointments this season, which I'm really looking forward to.
