Held at Witton-Le-Wear Co. Durham

Puppy test

1st Spirit of Grouse lodge owner/handler Mrs Joanne Wilson

2nd Alice of Mountlpeasant owner/handler Mr D Pittaway

3rd Leadburn Hector of Breckonmuir owner/handler Mr Keith Bains

Novice Test

1st Kenmillix Dark Pheonix owner/handler Mrs Penny Marriner

2nd Leadburn Hector of Breckonmuir owner/handler Mr Keith Bains

3rd Dukes Wood owner/handler Mr Glynn Coupar

4th Holywear Damson owner/handler Mrs Jennifer hay.

Sun shone all day for us today and all competitors enjoyed a good day. the Puppy test consisted of a water retrieve from a pond of about 40 mtrs a blind along a lane of about 40 mtrs then a 50mtr mark into cover. It was decided a fourth walk up test would be added. All dogs coped well with the tests with a run off being held for 1st and second place, there was only a total of 1 point between those in the placings.

The novice was 6 tests A blind of around 80mtrs, a mark into a large lake of about 50mtrs, a blind (with a distraction thrown into the water first) of about 30mtrs after lunch another three tests were a mark into a lake of about 60mtrs falling behind trees, a blind placed two mtrs into a lake over a distance of 80mtrs behind some trees. Then a mark into long cover of about 80mtrs. It was decided a 7th test would be added that being a walk up with each dog having 1 retrieve then rotating up the line to wait steady for the other dogs to have there retrieves (all walked up) again a high standard of entries with only 1 point separating 1st and 2nd place A good day had by all; on a personal note I was well pleased with Ripleys first entry into a novice test (leadburn Hector of Breckonmuir) who took 2nd place.

Keith

It was a good day, I was really pleased with Samps, even if I did bu**er up the mark in to cover by using my whistle and distracting him and then getting in a right flap Embarassed He did very well on the blind, walk up and water retrieve. When I left my whistle alone. Embarassed but there you go you learn as you go along.

Well done keith, Ripley did fantastically well. Razz

Fee also did very well but will leave her to let you all know how she got on .

Very well done Keith, you must be highly delighted.
