Love the fact that Hartley is soooo steady to anything falling from the sky
Ahh yes Jules! Well spotted! Years and years of training went into reaching that high level of steadiness in a dog! Did you see the way he was 'quivering' in anticipation.........(although that could have been his rheumatism playing him up!)?
I hadn't noticed Zorro's, "oh blimey, is she expecting me to fetch that? Suppose I'd better make my way slowly over...no rush....she'll wait....", run in (!) on Mouse's mark, until I watched the vid!
In my experience, the more you teach a pup at an early age, the greater their capacity for learning new things. I think that learning 'triggers' learning.
Yes Becs that has been proven. Stanley coren's 'the intelligence of dogs' and 'how dogs think' might be an interesting read for you.
Thanks for the recommendation Sarah.
I've bought Stanley Coren's 'How Dogs Think' (I'm sure I had it before and lent it out to someone, never to see it again!) and I'm finding it very fascinating. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone else who is interested in thinking about what their dog tick.
