Need I say more - thank you thank you thank you to the lovely Susan (Tractorgirl) for the recommendation we bought two (Tilly and Ruby its farrr to much effort for Honey to pull) and they arrived yesterda - HEAVEN!!!!!!
Its like walking a feather!!!! Ruby isnt too bad now unless we are walking to her off lead place but tilly well lets just say she thinks she is a kangeroo lol (awww shes still young)
Seriously - try them we got them from ebay clip to collar version for £15.98 - FABULOUS!!!!!
I had one since they first came out altho i dont think its the soft version, anyhow what i like about em is they are all in one, unlike the halti where its seperate head to lead which means theres a lot to carry when they go off lead walking x x x
I'm deperately drumming my nails on the desktop waiting for payday so I can order mine, they are seriously fabulous and I was so impressed that Ozzie didn't do his usual freak-out when we slipped it on (he hates his Canny).
Like Sarah we only need ours for seriously exciting situations, so I'm gonna have to go to loads of GTs now to test it out
I found these to be the best too, my lab likw yours used to freak out with gentle leader and halti but she accepted theses well, they are great best I have found.
Gillie's has just arrived and I have taken him for a little walk. I don't think he was too impressed, every step he took he tried to swipe it off his nose! Hopefully he will get used to it as he is very strong and far too strong for my husband who doesn't have good knees.
I have sent for one for Charlie, as we are going on holiday soon and I fully anticipate he will be excitable and hard to manage.
Charlie too never really liked other headcollars, but I spoke to a couple of people at our agility club show last weekend who were using them. They loved them too.
I'd suggest giving any objections short shrift - and loads of praise for walking properly/not attempting to remove the gencon. Most dogs will object to some degree as you are removing their opportunity to please themselves! Objections will range from lying down and refusing to move through to various attempts to remove the nosepiece. Get them moving as quickly as you can and the objections fade.
