Some of you have shown interest in the progress of our young pup Acer, so as she will be six months old on Sunday, I thought I would post up a picture. She’s gone through a lot of different growth stages in the last few months and at one stage we thought of changing her official name from Peregrine to Piglet! But now she’s finally beginning to go up as well as out. She’s very bold, but her steadiness is quite impressive at the same time and she takes most things in her stride. We made her watch a John Halstead gundog demonstration at a game fair on Sunday, so hopefully that will help.
A few weeks back I saw her mother Grebe again, who is just one of the nicest young bitches I have ever seen, so willing to please, with a lovely temperament, very affectionate, if she was mine she would definitely be entered in the prettiest bitch competition. Back at Christmas, when I first met her, she was in pup and not looking her best and is still not looking her best, having just come out of season, but here she is, a really nice dog.
Acer really is maturing nicely, I'm sure you will keep us updated with her progress. Perhaps with the odd picture or two
At the risk of sounding very impatient, I can't wait for my almost 5 week old pups to get to 6 months, so we can start having a serious play with them, I really do enjoy working with young dogs, it's so rewarding.
Acer and Mum are stunning. Her coat is like a mirror. I'm a biased black lab owner, i just dont think you can beat this colour (other colours are also available.... disclaimer lol)
