there was a fireworks display and Simon bolted in fright , owner has call DW and rescues but as it is a weekend no response really. 50 + poster have been put up already. Simon was a rescue and is a nervous but friendly dog & wary of strangers.

As said in other threads, the owner should visit the shelters in person and leave details of themselves and Simon, hopefully most should have scanners and if he`s handed in they should pick up his chip.
Bumping up as there has been a sighting,,,please look out for Simon and if anyone knows Bristol please email or call bussiness in the area and poster something that is on the move or out and about like the a Delivery man, Bus, Taxi, Can anyone get on to the local radio please.
Simon tried to come home but the traffic stopped him so he will probably try again (unless he has been pick up but doubtful as he is a nervous boy) so please look out for him guys. Thanks x
message from owners
Thanks for all the support, we have been postering, emailing, and targetting postmen and taxi drivers and milkmen. He was spotted by a taxi driver on Saturday night trying to cross whiteladies road near the HSBC bank. Several people tried to catch him but he evaded them and was last seen heading down the hill towards the town as the traffic was too heavy to cross. He was about 300m from home at that point. This happened at around 10pm

We have been overwhelmed by your wonderful support and that of friends in Bristol and further afield. Thank you all.
Simon is featured in today's Bristol Evening Post on page 4.
They will run the story again tomorrow with updates, which is excellent news.
We have plastered the Downs and Whiteladies road, Blaise Castle/Coombe Dingle, Ashton Court, Leigh Woods and Brandon Hill.
All the vets have been informed in Bristol. Local taxi firms are keeping an eye out and friends in Bristol are circulating the posters and telling people. Facebook is also being used and has a photo. Running clubs and dog walkers have been told and friends are passing the word to traffic wardens and park rangers etc
A friend phoned me this morning to say that someone might have seen him raiding bins on Sunday night in Cotham Hill near Film 54.
But I have just had some very distressing news...
a man called to say that he hit a dog matching the description on the posters on Saturday night around 9.15. Simon ran off into Apsley rd afterwards and disappeared.
Have just had a call to say that he was seen on Ladies mile this morning Tuesday.
please keep looking! He isn't far away. Thank you so much.

Sadly he is still not back. Been out since 6am looking for him and putting up more posters and handing out leaflets.
He made a full page 2 in Evening Post and the Western Daily want to run the story and are coming over shortly.
Thanks so much to you all for caring.
Think we need to get out into Clifton today
Louise
made a mistake in the last post
his story has now gone national- the person I thought was from the Western Daily was in fact South Western News who cover the nationals- major coup to get wider coverage
but nothing from the radio stations as yet- keeping fingers crossed that they call
and I am in a way very relieved if he is with street people- 2 reports of him looking out of place with them but walking happily at heel- does sound like him- at least they love dogs too, and he is not roaming

There has been lots of negative feedback on the comment page on the editorial of the Evening Post regarding the laying of the pee trails. May need back up from Doglost if it gets nasty please.
Also had a call to see if a magazine can feature the story and they will pay us- will donate it to Doglost if it comes off.
We are off to see if we can track down some homeless people and see if Simon is hanging around with them after the 2 reports of sightings.
A farmer called to tell us to find a bitch in season and lay a trail with her! A good idea we thought.
And I found someone's dog today- another lab - he had been seen around Cotham and I had lots of calls about him- took him to the dogs home and he was chipped- the owners know and were on the way to get him.
That's all for now
Come back Simon! Jon and Henry are back - just you missing now.
