Following on from a few threads, it would be nice to have a thread that you can add your recommendations too, it may be a handy little source of info for people moving to a new area or looking to change their vet.

Dick White Referrals - Nr Newmarket

I fabulous referral vet, friendly staff who really care about your pets.

John Wray is a brilliant specialist there specialising in Internal medicine.

The Receptionists are second to none and whenever I visit or just phone as soon as I say Mrs P, they know exactly what dog I have and always make a fuss of Tara even calling her by her nickname Tara Banana.

I have nothing but praise for these brilliant people

For an orthopaedic specialist I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Graham Oliver at Buckley House in Hucknall, Notts.

They are also an ordinary vets practice but I have had no dealings with that part, but Graham really is 'Mr Miracle Man' Laughing Laughing

The nurses are fantastic, as are the receptionists who never get fed up with me ringing several times a day (and out of hours too Laughing )

Well if anyone is ever visiting or moving out to Mons Belgium! Dr Esnouf in St Denis is lovely.

Available on the phone 24 hrs, answers her own door half the time (her mum the other half!), doesn't charge for a very quick look-see, very cheap, speaks great English and is very, calm and patient with over-excited labs.

Need a good vet recommending on north leics/south notts border so will be watching this thread!

nigel swayne and duncan hole at swayne & partners bury st edmunds and all the staff their too. a wonderful team, who are brilliant in happy times and sad times too. very caring and 24/7 service (something which sadly a number of vets don't do any more)

oncology department at the animal health trust, nr newmarket and their nurses. again very caring in good times and bad and for their research into cancer etc

and yes i have heard excellent reports of dick white referrals too

As my General Vet Gil Tose in Windlesham is awesome, and I rave about Noel Fitzpatrick and all the staff at Fitzpatrick Referrals Eashing,Surrey for Orthopedics/Neurosurgery.

Both go the extra mile, Gill receptionist brought a home made Get Well Card and toy for Ruby for when she comes home, I can also leave her with them when she's home and Lisa and I are at work.

All lovely people

I will second Nigel Swayne at Bury St Edmunds, he has been hip scoring my dogs for years, expensive but worth every penny. I trust him 1000%

In have to say the best vet I have ever dealt with is John Ferguson at the East Neuk clinic in Fife. I first met him when Eliza, my old girl, had her RTA. He was wonderful with her and the 300 mile round trip was well worth it.

But, he excelled himself when I found that I had to refer my Keira down with her HD and ED, he and all the staff were wonderful. They are an ordinary vet as well as Orthopaedic Specialists, absolutely fantastic vets, wish they were on my doorstep.

Barn Animal Vets near Reading - can't recommend them enough. They have treated every one of our pets from rats and guinea pigs to cats and dogs. They always go the extra mile and when Noughts (our cat) was poorly last year before we went away they took him in to make sure he received treatment and monitoring so we could still go away with peace of mind.

Emergency service is incredible. The vets give you great advice over the phone and won't hesitate to be there if needed.

It's a proper animal hosptial with super duper surgery theatres and wotnot. We did a grand tour when Hudson was a puppy.

I had to go to a more local practice last year for Hudson's second jab. It was the sister practice of the one he'd had his first jab at and unfortunately my vet didn't do that make of jab. It wasn't a spot on Barn Animal Vets, people weren't as friendly and the practice itself looked a bit run down.
