Pride Veterinary Hospital - Derby. Fantastic top of the range care without top of the range prices. Individual referral vets for complex cases and high tech equipment. Hope was diagnosed and operated on in 3 hours as opposed to 48 hours of just monitoring at our normal out of hours care provider( I wont say who as its unfair if they havent got the high tech stuff) The staff - Damien and Francis who saved Hope's life are on par with Superman to our family at the moment. Thank you guys!

Also my own normal vets - Dove in Stapleford, who recognised immediately that Hope needed specialist care and quickly referred and wanted to be kept updated.

Only just seen this sticky and wanted to add ...

Stow Veterinary Surgery in Stow on the Wold - all the vets are great, but for me in particular it's Carrie (don't know her surname).
and
Willows Specialist Referral Centre in Birmingham.

Both of them have provided excellent services and gone beyond the "norm".

I have to recommend our vet practice:
CAERWYS VETERINARY SURGERY
North Street, Caerwys, Flintshire, CH7 5AW
Tel: 01352 720203

My family first started using the surgery back in the late 1960's, then when I eventually got my own dogs I too registered there and the service has been faultless. Although it has changed quite a bit since then!

I think they would probably serve most of Flintshire and Denbighshire, although not too sure how far out. Their prices have always been lower than expected (but don't tell them that!).

This time last week I noticed a small spot on my boxer's ear - did not think anything of it as as the weekend she had been hoolying around in the hedgerows and ditches with all the other mutts. On Friday I noticed it was a fair bit bigger and scabby, so thought it was probably healing over. Saturday night I had a horrible thought it may be more so yesterday went over to see a friend who is a vet nurse. Her face confirmed what I had thought and I asked if she thought mast cell tumour. She said it did look that way (and explained the non malignant side as well) - her dog has had many removed. Rang the surgery this morning, they booked me in for an appointment straight away, we all agreed that as the affected area had grown so fast (tiny spot to 20p size in a week) and as it was on her ear flap rather than taking a biopsy and disturbing the cells and then having to remove it later on it would be best to simply do a Van Gogh straight away.

China stayed with them (happily as she knows them), I was given loads of reassurance about extra fluids (she has a heart murmur) and I have just had a call to say she is out of theatre and sitting up looking around her.

So - from first worry to it (hopefully) being caught in time less than 48 hours.... thank you so much Priory Vets.

I would like to recommend my referral vet, Davies Veterinary Specialists in Luton Bedfordshire. I can not say enough for them when my dear Scoobie became so ill and sadly they had to give him sleep after trying everything they could. They also looked after us so well. I had no hesitation in Layla going there for her consultation on her hips.
I would also like to recommend the vet that I still sometimes use even though we have moved, Sprinz and Nash and the vet where we live now, Harts. Smile
