My local vet is Ian Paine of the Hampden Veterinary practice Aylesbury. I have always found him to be very good with my dogs and he listens to what I have to say. We then discuss what action to take together.

Also recommend Prof Peter Bedford who I have known for many many years. He comes to the eye testing sessions John and I run in Haddenham three times a year.

Finally Dr Daan Vink but only because he is my son-in-law, and sadly is in New Zealand now! Wink

our very own pet directory has the ability to do this sort of thing, its really underused Sad

http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/directory.html

All you need do is add the company http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/add-entry.html and then leave feedback like ebay Smile

I would like to recommend the vets at the Royal Veterinary College, Hatfield.

They did an amazing job getting my girl back to health. I live in Plymouth which is 250 miles away and they kept in touch with me several times a day and made sure she had plenty of cuddles while she was an inpatient.

The entire neuro team are excellent Very Happy

Broadleys Vetinary Hospital in Stirling is really amazing. It costs a fair bit mind you but I have no qualms about leaving Brogan or Lottie in their care.

I can recommend Ferns Veterinary Practice in Birnam, Dunkeld, Perthshire.

A small vet practice but very friendly and gives that personal touch Smile

Well I know some slate them for being expensive but Cherrydown Vets in Basildon have given me and my animals good service for more years than I care to remember.

The practise is up to date, yet still has some of the more old fashioned values. They don't plug Special Food or Antibiotics for all and everything and they are happy to listen to the owners desires and questions, without making you feel daft or like you don't know what you're talking about. They have an excellent 24 hour service and facilities, should you need them and are the only practise in this area which offer this, I believe. So for this reason alone, I shall recommend them, as you just never know when your dog needs to be kept in overnight, or has an Out of Hours emergency.

They are quick to realise their limitations, so happily and quickly refer you to a Specialist if they feel the animal needs special treatment, rather than muck about and try all manner of things themselves first.

And that leads me to.....

I'd also like to Second Fitzpatrick Referrals, as they certainly know their stuff and the treatment and care they give is exemplary.

Highcroft Vets - Bristol have been superb. We've been with them for just over a year now and they've handled Flora's THR, Bran's HD and ED and Hugo with his neverending heart problems.

The main practice is actually a hospital as well as a "normal" practice, but they also have branches throughout Bristol. Each vet that works there is also a specialist in a particular field so if an animal gets almost anything wrong with it they will have a specialist on hand to see you.

They are currently extending the practice so that it will double in size and give them more operating rooms.

The staff - receptionists, vet nurses and vets alike - have always been courteous, helpful and just wonderful to deal with. We have a great relationship with them (especially the cardiologist who treats Hugo) and my knowledge of my animals is always taken into consideration (unlike other vets I've dealt with in the past).

Overnight, the hospital is actually staffed by a vet and a nurse who are working a night shift so overnight patients are monitored constantly (BIG plus in my book!).

Hi,

I've had a look at the directory on here and the nearest vet to me on there is in Surrey. I'm in West Sussex... I'm looking for a new vet after an awful experience with mine when I had Jessie PTS

Anyone in the Bognor/Chichester area recommend their vets?

Thanks
Jo
