We're back home, tired but so happy about Logie's result...we've never experienced such hot weather in England before

You must be both glutons for punishment - the weather and the drive was worth it though....
Well yes - but almost not for us as we had a very close call on the M4 resulting in me swerving all over and thank god my 4x4 was capable of it!
Took me a good 15 mins sitting down when I got to Windsor (not to mention a large almond croissant ) before I felt ok!

I'd have thought our recent weather would be more reminiscent of that in your part of the world
How long does the journey take you?

It takes us 5 1/2 hrs drive to (or from) the tunnel from (or to) home. we live near Rennes in Brittany. The tunnel is the easiest way with a dog.
Regarding the weather, it's been hot like this where we live for a fortnight or so, but I did not expect it to be so hot in England. That was a silly thought...why did we see so many British registered cars on the motorway down south of France or Spain ?
