Is there anything else i can try... im thinking there must be!! It would be good to see him actually taste his food!! After all it isnt cheap! Laughing

I was wondering if i should just put his din out on the lawn! When we do this in trainign he loves looking for it! But sometimes there ist the time to let him do it! Sad

Winston sounds like a typical lab; one swift inhale and all the grub's gone!

Daisy is the same... when she was younger she used to suffer terrible hiccups for scoffing too quickly.

We now give her some of her food inside kongs so she can push it around the house. Also, if feeding from the bowl, we add other objects that she has to push around to get to her food; potatoes, carrots, balls and half-filled kongs. Seems to work for us!

If it is dry food you are feeding then soak it before giving it to him.

Charlie is a bolter too. When I measure out his food I just run cold tap water over it in the bowl and leave it to soak in - takes about 10 minutes. It bulks out a bit, and he cannot eat it so fast. Very Happy

When they bolt food down like that then the trouble is they often take in a lot of air too, and occasionally it can contribute towards bloat. Soaking the food slows them down just enough, plus it also helps them keep hydrated. Very Happy

Nellies started out as a picky slow eater but is now quicker than Basil Shocked

It's a bit faffy but I give her one meal as training, so a few sit's etc for a few bits of kibble, 1 meal in her treat ball and the other in her dish (but with another dish inside so the food is in a ring)

I think the tray will probably be fine, I'm sure he's still fast but surely he gobbles a little less than in his bowl?
I doubt you'll ever get him to eat slow, so slower is the bets you cna hope for Laughing

Stella eats really fast as well and always seems to be looking for more food, she is actually turning in to a bit of a thief, but if she steals she will play with it for a while before actually eating it so I know she is not hungry just greedy!

Wispa was the same but she has slowed down loads, now 10 months.
Its probably from when they had to share with their litter mates, when they realise they don't have to share anymore i'm sure they'll slow down.
