Not sure if anyone else has got one of these or maybe thinking about getting one, but it has worked like a dream for us!!
Rueben was a terrible puller but popped this on him this morning and it's like walking a different dog!!
It made the walk so much more pleasurable for both of us. I was worried he wouldn't like wearing it, he did try to get at it when we were heading down the drive but once we were out in the lane he walked beautifully!!
So glad we got one, can't wait for our next walk now
We had one for Theo and it worked really well, he no longer wears it and walks well on a normal slip lead now, but we found it was really good for reducing the pulling but also helpful when we met people and he got very excited for controlling him as you have the 2 points of control. Only 1 problem we had, which was probably our fault, was when mum took him out in the car to see the hunt on the way home he managed to chew right through the straps round his front rendering it pretty useless - but we bought a knew one and learnt from our mistake by putting it on when we got to places and taking it off once he was in the car.
I'll make sure I learn from your mistake and not leave it on him then!!
I really am so glad we got it! I was beginning to dread our walks, although Rueben is only 5 months he is already really strong. I normally take him on the school run in the morning before it gets too hot and he wasn't too bad on the first part of the walk but as soon as he saw the lollipop man he started to pull like a mad thing He knows that once we get round that corner there will be kids galore and he'll get lots of fuss
I haven't tried it on the school run yet (might do this afternoon if its not too hot) but have taken him down our lane and I have so much more control over him now!
Did you find Theo 'learnt' the proper way to walk with the halti harness then walked just as well when he was on a lead?
I used a halti on coal when he was a youngster and to be honest after the first few walks it made little difference. I stopped using it and instead used a method given to me by my friend helen. He's still a nightmare at times and we are now having a re-newed effort to get it spot on but her method really did make incredible difference.
i've posted it a few times on here but today i'm just gonna pinch her post.... hope u don't mind helen!

if you look half way down this thread you'lll see her post.
At 5 months old i think there is alot you can do before resorting to a halti which is only an aid and not a solution in the long term.
hope that all makes sense

The head collar works wonders for Luna when she is very excited. It's like most 'tools', what doesn't work for one dog does for another.
I love the feeling of having a good walk with Luna - we did this morning! I think the world is gradually becoming normal to her again (been walking for 3 weeks now after 2 months rest) rather than party-time to her!
i'm afraid if its a harness, its still a no for me . esp as some can affect the gait of a dog.
i know people need to use them to help them out esp when they have a dog that pulls and i know how hard it is but what i more meant by the post was that it shouldn't be used without trying to address the issues and train without using it as well. Instead of being viewed as a long term solution

Was trying to stay away from this as i really don't agree with putting halti's etc on pups and he is a pup. As posted above training is the only way to go can be hard work(unless from day one ) and you have to be consistant but it will work.
Do you go to training classes ? Would be inclined to find a good class if not
I hold my hand up to having used halti's too, there was a period of time, when I hadn't cracked the heelwork, and Bosun was to big and lary and I had a shoulder injury. So we went down the halti route, but it was only temporary and I never stopped with the training whilst he was wearing it.
Whatever method people choose is personal preference, but I do maintain that gadgets are just treating the symptoms, not the problem.
