Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help me with this one please. I have two young Labs, and at the weekend we went for a country walk, which as you can imagine they thoroughly enjoyed We walked about 5 miles and they dipped in a couple of ditches with water and went into a small stream. Then yesterday we noticed that both of them had drooping tails! Seems very odd (and looks odd too!) like they are unable to lift them. Other than that they are fine. We've had Labs for years but not come across this one before. Any advice appreciated

It sounds like cold tail, unusual for it to have affected both your dogs but it does happen, it usually happens after they`ve swum in cold water, hence the name but it doesn`t just have to be that, it can come on at anytime.
They`ll probably find it painful to sit as well as wag but in 2/3 days they both should be fine again

Very very common. As Mary says, give it 2 days or so and both will be fine.

Frankie had that in January, after a swim in the sea followed by a bit of a bump when out on a run. I found the forum really reassuring and avoided the need for a vet visit - A couple of doses of junior ibuproven helped.
It only lasted a couple of days and he soon got his mojo back . Apparently, once an episode, then the dogs are more prone?
Hope yours get better soon!
