Has anyone had any experience with these?

Cover looks pretty (lifetime, £7000) good at a very reasonable price, my only worry is the premiums will hike after the first year. Has anyone else had this, or isn't it that bad?

Marks and Spencer started with what seemed a great insurance deal and then their prices shot up after the first year, they made the mistake of having zero excess as an option though, think they ended up paying out more than they got in.

As long as you don`t have to use the insurance in the year you have it, there`s no reason why you shouldn`t look for another company if the price goes up too much Smile

M&S at a time were fantastic - they paid our vet direct £3,500 within a week of Rocky's hip replacement op. However, this was when they were underwritten by Axa insurance. Now they're not, their premiums keep getting higher and higher.

I've recently insured two of mine with Greenbee (John Lewis) who are now underwritten by Axa. About to insure Yorkie with them too as his M&S premium has just come thru at £251 (No claims) and Greenbee are coming up at £155!

I've just got a quote from Greenbee £218.39 with £75 excess!

Does the purchase price make a difference with insurance, why do they ask this?

Crikey! Shocked

I'm not sure if purchase price makes a difference, though I know postcodes do.

I looked at Argos but was unclear about the lifetime cover, it said on the leaflet up to £7,000 per condition, but did not say whether this was every year or one off.

I'm currently with Petplan, bit pricey, but lifetime cover means up to x amount per condition every year. So for example that £7,000 if I was using it to cover a dog with diabetes, I would have £7,000 every year, not just as a one off.

That was the only thing that concerned me and if anyone knows different I would be pleased to hear.
