I’m posting this on behalf of Labrador Rescue South East & Central (LRSEC).
Polly is a friendly, female six year old chocolate Labrador who is being rehomed by LRSEC as her previous owner died.
Polly is looking for a child-free home where she will benefit from lots of company, exercise and ongoing training.
Polly has previously led rather a sheltered life, but she is friendly and good with other dogs. She pulls on lead initially and if she wants to get to something, but walks better on a harness and settles to walk nicely alongside you on a loose lead provided there are no distractions.
Polly has been off lead while in the care of rescue, with other dogs, and her recall is good.
Due to her past, Polly has developed an obsession with food, which is being worked on at present – and will need ongoing work in her new home. She will throw herself at work surfaces and raid shopping bags, so food must be kept away from her.
LRSEC would prefer to rehome Polly as an only dog, but would consider an *experienced* home with another dog provided the new owners understood her issue with food and that Polly MUST be fed separately from another dog in the home. Polly has not lived with cats.
Polly is currently being cared for in Wiltshire. A potential new owner must be prepared to travel to meet Polly prior to adoption, once a home visit has been completed.
