Owner has emailed an update. There have been no sightings of Basil since his disappearance, despite daily searches. He is described as an extremely friendly dog who readily goes up to people. Have emailed further advice to see if we can pull in some sightings.

update from basil's owner


"Nothing as yet. We now firmly believe that he has been stolen as there are a few reports of other dogs going missing in the area. We have sent posters to all vets within a 50 mile radius of here so now we just have to sit back and wait. I carry out a weekly check of the rescues and other related places within Cornwall , Devon, Somerset and Dorset . My next step is probably to advertise in local papers within the areas to try and prompt a response.

I haven't checked Facebook, but if you're in touch with his owners, you could suggest they set up a Facebook group for him too - other people with missing/stolen dogs have done the same. Another way of getting the word around quickly.

Hope there's good news for them soon.
