You have to bear in mind that the RSPCA 'rescued' only operate under the name and actually are run by committee in each area Which can mean that they all actually have different rehoming policies and criteria.

That's nearly as imressive as the lady I know who went to a rescue for a rabbit and was told she couldn't have one, but would she try an ex-breeding (not puppy farm, but not good breeders either) labrador bitch, who was in such a state that when she took the girl to the vet the vet double checked her story that she'd just taken her on as a rescue.
