Hi, anyone wanting a softer slip lead to avoid rope burns on their hands and fur rubbing on their dogs necks go to www.blackgundog.com. They have soft cotton slip leads in different colours for £5 plus postage. Sue.

I could kiss you for posting that!!! I've been nursing my wounds for nearly 3 days now. Definitely need a softer lead (and to teach my dog to sit patiently Rolling Eyes )

Hi Mo, yes like you I too suffered really painful rope burns when my boy was younger, tried gloves but the lead literally did slip-right through my hands! Leather gloves were better but quite expensive so I tried to get a leather slip from Turner Richards but still waiting after 3 months, they are out of stock. Black Dog donate 10 percent of their profits to Breast Cancer so a worthy cause, they also have moleskin breeches to die for and Tattersall shirts for the really fashion conscious girlies who gun dog!!
Good luck with your training, we are just starting Grade 2, great fun and pleased to say we have gone past the pulling for England phase at last, can even do nice sits now too!! Sue.
