It is labelled as a training dummy though so maybe they just expect you to buy the scents? Confused

If you wanted your own scent then they do say the contents of your hoover bag works for lost dogs (ie sprinkle in and then empty back out should do it)...but then if you want this to increase interest and she's not ordinarily then your smell isn't going to work.

Personally i'd stay away from food as she might get frustrated there's nothing to eat.

I'd stick with gundog scents to ignite her inner instinct Smile

edited to add: the kong webby says the foam core is to help it float high in ther water and also serve as a scent pad. So presumably with use it will pick up a strong scent she'll recognise?

Got it from the link Basil had put on (turner richards) but you have to spend a min of £10 so had to find something to top my order up with.

Went for the rabbit as when we go to PAH Poppy loves to stand and look at the rabbits.

Shall keep you posted kate, and your right i shall never have any money same as the kids it not just a case of buying the toy its what goes with the toy lol never mind fingers crossed it works

Well, ours arrived this morning

see what you mean about how you don't think you can get the sponge thing out!

Roxy was very interested cause she loves her Kong and thought there was food in there

so as I clicker train a lot every time she picked it up, I clicked and rewarded

then I only clicked as she started to come towards me carrying it and then only when she brought it to me

so good so far, I thought Very Happy

Into the garden and threw it a few times, she ran after it brought it back, I clicked and gave her a treat.

But within a few minutes, as usual, she lost interest Sad

She will run after a ball etc in the garden but shows no interest when out, so I'm going to take it with me to the park this afternoon

I shall probably be the embarrassed one, throwing it, then fetching it myself

she has me well trained Laughing Laughing Laughing

Rabbit in a tin has arrived. Poppy seemed to like the smell out of the tub but once it was on the scent pad in the kong was not interested.

My trainer said to cut it out and stuff it with food, as she was not interested in the rabbit scent. Stuffed some cheese in and it then came very interesting. So i shall be cutting out the scent pad.

Kate if you want to try the rabbit scent PM me your address and you can have it hun.
