Di, thanks for posting this.

Only this morning we ran into a woman desperately attempting to recall her bitch (who was out of eyesight mooching (or floosying) in some woodland). I'd put Dyl on lead as we approached because her other two dogs were on lead. Just as we got to her she called out that her girl was just at the end of her season and please not to scream at her if anything should happen Shocked Shocked. I replied 'well fine, just so long as YOU don't scream at me if anything occures, because you'll be the one holding the puppies!' Rolling Eyes Needless to say Dyl remained firmly on lead until I was sure she had caught her girl and left.

Anyway, that is a brill post and really info that should go into every puppy pack, it's positively scarey how many bitch owners think the season is over once they've stopped bleeding. It's helpful even for us dog owners.

Hopefully its OK to ask this here Di. I'm not a bitch owner so have very little knowledge.

A neighbour has a gorgeous little black bitch who they are sure (previous and current bitch owners of other breeds as well as labs) has not come into season yet, and she is just over 3. Shocked
Do you know if this is likely? If so, can this happen without there being something 'wrong' with the bitch?
I'd be grateful for your and other experienced bitch owners opinions.

Thank you Di, that was a simple and a straight forward explanation!

I shall print it out for future reference if that is ok?
