Thanks Ian. He's a nice dog with a nice temperament. Here's another nice shot of him. And seeing as this was a Springer thread I'd better include a Springer picture!

Nice looking springer as well. What's the lab's breeding?
Cheers

Hi Ian
The Sire is Greenbriar Viper of Drakeshead and the Dam is Calderhey Beaver of Lamazing and she is out of, Sire:Wingsham Tinder of Smithstead and the Dam Drakeshead Nicola. His parents are both Optigen clear, so I don't have to worry about eye testing!
The Springer was a rescue! But we were unable to keep him. Before we got him I had £2000 worth of new fencing put up, as I knew, or thought I knew, what I was up against! This was about 5 years ago and at a different address. The house was on the A22 which is a very fast stretch of road. The first day that we got Bracken home I decided to put him on a long telescopic lead and let him have a good wander around the perimeter
of the garden. He went straight through the thick hedge that leads out to the A22!! I held him on the lead while my wife went out to get him. I had to let the rescue have him back, because It would have cost another £2000 to make the garden totally springer proof! And even then I could not be certain that he would not get out. I've learnt a fair bit about Springers since then and also seen a lot since then. And I can tell you he was one hell of a dog - absolutely beautiful. I spent 3 weeks visiting him everyday at the rescue centre while he was settling in. I used to take him to the paddock which is fenced in and let him off the lead and watch him run with his nose down zigzagging all over the place! He was just the best Springer I've seen. I will have a Springer one day, but he will have to be a good looker and nicely built. One like Bracken would be perfect! I have some video footage of him somewhere - I'll try and dig it out and upload it so you can see him in full flight.
All the best
Jason

I know what you mean, i have been bomb proofing my paddock, but I still wont let the dogs out there unsupervised, especially with a little cocker.
Cheers
