well we got Jacks renewal quote from Petplan today and they want another £150 a year!. The monthly price would be £40 instead of just over £30!.

This is for a lifetime policy but even so, they wont budge and said the increase was due to the Vet fees where we lived had increased so much this year!! Rolling Eyes .

We have been getting new quotes today trying to match what we had with Petplan apart from the price!!.

Anyone with AXA?. We got a price of £21 a month with them for what looks like the same as we had before.

Man on the phone was surprised to hear we wouldnt be staying with them but did say they dont price match.

Any other recommendations for lifetime policies please?.

thanks a lot

Tracey

I've just taken out a policy with Animal Friends Insurance, they do a range of polices to choose from, mine is £24 a month for £5000 per condition, per year for lifetime.

AXA seem to have a good reputation. They used to underwrite for M&S but don't anymore and the M&S policy seems to have gone downhill since AXA stopped.

I have a policy with M&S which I would have taken out with AXA direct in hindsight, or gone with Petplan.

have swapped my 9 yr old dog from M & S to Axa (mainly as M & S have a high excess now he's over 9) . their premium was considerably less and i was happy to go with axa as they were so good when they used to underwrite M & S.

I've been shopping around as M&S have put their price up by a third this year for Corbie, and I've never claimed.

M&S for this year
- £7000 per year
- £70 excess
- £23.99 / month

Some quotes I have (includes online discounts), Corbie is 4 - haven't quite decided which I want yet:

More Than:
- £7000 per condition
- £70 excess
- £14.39 / month (£172.68 )

Direct Line (advanced plan):
- £6000 per condition
- £80 excess
- £16.42 / month

Pet Plan (budget plan):
- £4000 per year
- £80 excess
- £21.89 / month

AXA:
- £7000 per year
- £50 excess (£75 excess)
- £17.23 (£16.11 for £75 excess option)
