Close to 4 to 1. we shot 51 Pheasant, 2 Canada, 2 Woodcock and a Pigeon for 437 shots. Interestingly there were quite a few birds left which the guns would on a normal day have had a go at, so the beaters were obviously not as confident in their ability, although our guns usually run at nearer a 5 to 1 kill rate. Maybe the beaters are just more discerning when they are shooting, a bit more frugal when it comes to cost of cartridges. I must say though, we had plenty of guns turning out to beat. They did us proud!
