A few pictures from training today.. What am I doing training on a Saturday in January when I should be picking up? Dont ask - its a sore point! Evil or Very Mad

Sorry about the quality, its only a cheap camera and the light wasnt great.

My 2008/2009 season picking up team :

From left to right Penny (10 yrs FTW), Blue (7yrs FTAW), Lola (nearly 3 FTW), Meg (4yrs FTAW)

This makes me smile and perfectly sums up the difference between my labs and Meg the springer. The same pose after a dummy was thrown. The labs nicely marking, and the springer just has to take an extra couple of feet!

Penny - my best friend. Ten years old, and some of the muscle has gone. Age is starting to take over. Sad She has given any other dog that I'll ever own a hell of a lot to live up to. :

Blue - The bramble scars tell the story. A real tough little cookie. Its taken me too long to fully appreciate her. She has had to take over as the back-bone of the picking up team this year, now that Penny is slowing down. Not the most photogenic, and not a huge fan of dummy training sessions. :

Lola looking all regal :

One of the most athletic and powerful powerful bitches I've come across and she's all mine!

Meg taking a breather:

Great pictures Matt, love the springer nicking a yard or two.

What a great team you've got. Must admit, I really do like the look of Blue, a proper picking up lab, if ever I've seen one.

Andrew

Edited to ask, so come on then, why were you training when there are only 3 shooting Saturdays left???

A very strong team you got there! (and then one of these ESS's Laughing Laughing Laughing ) lovely to see how alert they all are in the 'dummy picture' - even the 10 year old girl is on her toes, ready to go!!!

I think Penny (and the others, but Penny especially!) looks beautiful!

Gorgeous quartet!

It’s a great team Matt and your words regarding Penny are very touching and well understood.

And as for Lola – There is nothing like the well bred working bitch that you describe, something very special.

All the dogs look great.

John
