We have always wanted to add another dog once Muzz was settled and the time seems right. I have been drooling over all the beautiful puppy pics for the last couple of months but have struggled with the thought of the number of dogs being put up for adoption recently.
Anyway, I have taken to visiting the local dog sanctuary, which takes in the local waifs and strays for rehoming or worse I suspect in some cases
This morning I wandered in to see a big black labby boy wagging his tail and stood up in his kennel desperate for some attention. I was told his owners had found him too much hard work, he had chewed his bed and some furniture (which young labby doesn't???) and had ended up crated all day whilst they were at work as well as overnight. He is 18 months old, neutured, which hopefully means they cared for him to a degree, and very bouncy. OH and I took him for quite a long walk, we were told his owners found he pulled hard although after five minutes he walked like a dream (possibly thanks to the treats I had in my pocket )
The long and the short of it is he's coming home to us tomorrow - without a homecheck which took me aback a bit. Luckily I know in our case we'll take good care of him but who else could have come along and said "I'll have that one"
I suppose I'm comparing this to getting a puppy from a breeder who really doesn't give a damn who they sell to versus one who wants a really good home for the dog and I'm anxious. Also, with a puppy we all go mad about health checks and ancestry and I know nothing about his history really.
That aside, I can't wait to introduce him to Muzz, get him home, take him for a good run and give him a very much needed bath!
Welcome to our home Harvey, I hope we do you proud sweetheart.

Pictures...I'll try but I'm the world's worst photographer and even when I do get a decent picture the curfuffle involved in getting it on here always gets the better of me!
Muzz will come with us in the morning, I don't think she will have a problem with him, we haven't met a dog yet that hasn't become her new best friend! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he takes to her quite soon as we have a bit of a journey home! We thought we might take them both for a good walk at the country park before we come back so they get chance to have a play together but any advice is greatly appreciated
