Sounds like a good deal Georgia, does that include life cover for any condition?

As for the KC I`ve always thought they were expensive, I`d just have said I`d found a better deal to cover the quantity of dogs I had.

I got Macy and Jana switched to Direct Line (advanced - better plan, cant remember what it is called), £80.00 excess and all I need for them a pay £19.97 a month for both.

Went to add Cori and they wanted £15.36 Shocked

Going to phone them as how can you have 2 for £20.00 and 1 for £15ish Question

Twix costs me £30.00 a month at 13, I have to say I know that is a very dog for a dog her age Very Happy

I've actually just cancelled the policy I took out with More Than last week for Mole cos having recieved the info through in the post this morning and spoken to them on the phone, I realised that the policy was for £7000 per condition maximum not as I thought £7000 per condition each year (if that makes sense), so I've gone for another one that allows you up to £5000 per condition per year for the life of the policy.

Can I ask who that's with, as usually the policies seem to be £x per condition OR £x for total vet fees per year, rather than both.

If you are changing insurance policies/companies, remember existing conditions are very unlikely to be covered on a new policy. Even if your dog has seen a vet for something but you've not claimed on the insurance, you may find that condition (and similar/related ones) excluded in future too.

It's bizarre how much different regions vary - I pay less than £20 a month more than you for SIX Shocked

This doesn't apply to anyone posting here atm - but be aware that DL and quite a few other companies will NOT cover dogs used for breeding. Obviously, as a young dog you don't know for definite that you will breed - but it is something to remember if it might be in plans for the future.

Also, because they were talking about sport and business - I decided to check the status of showing - and was asked if I was a 'professional' - um, it's a hobby - albeit an expensive one at times Shocked but just curious where the line is drawn between showing as a 'hobby' and showing as a 'profession'

Georgia, I had the same when I cancelled Corbie's free KC insurance he got as a pup, got the lecture lol... and similar when I cancelled the free Pet plan one, that wanted to know why, how much, who with, that I really need insurance blah de blah.

Just had Corbie's M&S renewal (as some of you may have seen on my facebook status this morning Laughing)... up 33% on last year +£20 onto the excess, and never claimed. Stop getting older Corbs! Time for a shop around again.

I had the same when cancelling the free 6 week insurance.

I was mighty Evil or Very Mad as their website says they take your card details for IF you continue onto an annual policy, plus nowhere in the 6 week policy does it say you have to cancel and how nor does it say they'll transfer you onto an annual and bill you.

I called them the day before 6 weeks to cancel and then they asked me to put it in writing as well!

I asked them to remove my details from their datatbase and refused to discuss who I was changing too.
I won't take out the free insurance again it's a swizz to get your details!

Yes it's with Animal Friends Insurance, they do a variety of policies and prices depending on what you are looking for. It's £10 a month more expensive, but as Mole at the moment is an unknown quantity I'd rather do that for a couple of years and then re-evaluate then.

Be careful with More-Than. They have a clause where if the payouts reach a certain level you pay 20%. I have the 7000 per year per illness policy with them and didn't realise about the very very small print until I made claims. No I'm stuck with them for this dog.
