No Ian, I use the reverse wrist method but still can only send about 2 - 3 off before pain kicks in and I've never had a wrist injury in the past.
I think it has a lot to do with the age of the launcher, the dummy or ball you are using on it and how snugly it sits on there, and therefore how easily it comes off... also about the blanks you are using. If they are pink tipped low capacity it hurts a lot less than the purple tipped ones. But then the dummy doesn't go as far.
I read a little confusion maybe on the previous page. Dummy launchers ONLY take specific dummy launcher dummies and balls, made to slot down onto the launcher. Its just they come in a wide variety of shapes and types now.
A dummy launcher does not fire off normal canvas dummies with toggles that we train with. They CAN fire tennis balls but only with a specialist tennis ball attachment which needs buying seperately and slotting on.

Thanks Di, I knew you needed special dummies it's just i'd not seen canvas ones before (ie close to what we train with) only plastic or foam type ones.
Other than the turner richards launchers do they all only take one type of dummy (ie the same as what it comes with).
Are there any that are best avoided for beginners? - I might be tempted too if I ever spot a bargain!
All the different launchers I know of (TR and Bumperboy and I think Quest) can use the same dummies, although I think Contender’s low recoil, rapid fire launcher uses its own type. The regular ones have the same internal diameter of tube as a 12 bore shotgun; so that a 12 bore cleaning brush can be used to get the mud out of them.

They do come in all shapes and sizes ……………. (Note - the big black one on the right is not a launcher dummy)

Thanks for all your input re dummy launchers. I do have access to a field but I also have arthritis in my wrists and elbows so it may well not be suitable for me to get one. I will just have to try to find a willing helper with a decent throwing capacity. Thanks again. Sue MM
