is boiled spuds and carrots ok to give to reduce wight?

Personally I wouldn't feed either to an overweight dog. Potatoes are all carbs, which generally gets converted into fat and carrots are very high in sugar which also gets stored as fat.

I'd stick to adding green veg, if you wish to bulk their rations up a bit. Wink

If you suspect thyroid problems, at all, steer clear of broccoli as it is an inhibitor of thyroid function and could make matters worse. Otherwise, go with the greenies Very Happy

Cabbage and sprouts can also inhibit thyroid function. In healthy dogs they can be given in small amounts, but in dogs with a thyroid problem, I would avoid them.

With out being rude, could it be that you have asked the same question again & people wanted you to see the original advice, ?

i think its due to another member asking a question on the thread.
I presume the people posting advice didnt realise as you've been asking for the same advice again recently. Its a thread with some great advice.
