My Boss has just been on the phone to me, they have found a young black lab outside their house on the main road. They have given it some food and drink and have contacted the Dog Warden, who wont do anything until Monday, and the Police, not very helpful. What can they do now? Does anyone know of a lost dog in this area? Any advice please! They live in Monks Gate which is a small village close to Horsham on the A281

yes a vet or dog warden would definately be able to scan for a microchip..........is there a local rescue centre near them as if they can't get a vet to do it the rescue centre may be able to scan the dog....
hope they can look after him/her? till monday.
let us know what happens please

Definitely contact Doglost as already said. Do you know if the police or dog warden have taken the details of the dog and contact details for the finder? Just in case some poor person is going out of their mind until Monday worrying about their dog?
I hope they can hold onto the dog until Monday. Well done to them for taking her in. Hopefully there's a very grateful owner out there looking for her.
Lorna have cross posted on couple of other sites and had this reply don't know if will help ..................
Try this:
If a stray dog is found out of office hours, Mid Sussex District Council works in partnership with Crawley Borough Council and as a result a Duty Officer can be contacted. The finder will be required to take the dog to the Duty Officer at Crawley Town Hall who will then make arrangements to kennel the dog.
