Thanks Shirley.
I spoke to my friend again last night and she said they legally have to wait the 7 days before she can go anywhere and they wont just hand her over to rescue. Dont know why but I suppose it they would lose out on the adoption fee 
My friend is there most days so she will keep checking up on her to see if anything happens. I've just got my fingers crossed the owners turn up.
